If you are a fan of metal music at all, then you undoubtedly know about Iron maiden. They have been one of the most influential bands to hit the metal scene since they formed back in 1975. Well, in the 1980s, Adrian Smith joined the crew to play the guitar, but he needed something that was incredible which was why he chose the Jackson.

 A 1 ply pickguard

Now, years later, he has again brought his inspiration to one of metals favorite guitar makers in the form of a pair of new signature model Jackson guitars. And to say that these guitars are amazing would be an understatement! The new Jackson Adrian Smith San Dimas Guitar signatures feature a lot of the things you loved about the ones that came out in the 80s, except that they have been brought up to par with modern technology and are very well able to stand on their own as exceptional instruments for use by extreme, professional musicians.

These models feature:

  • A 1 ply pick guard
  • A bolt on, quarter-sawn maple neck
  • An ebony fingerboard
  • A scale length of 25.5 inches
  • 22 jumbo frets
  • A Floyd Rose #3 nut
  • Pearl Dot position inlays, which are mother of pearl
  • Three pickups, which include two Fender Hot samarium Cobalt Noiseless Strat Pickups and a DiMarzio Super Distortion Humbucking Pickup.
  • Gotoh Die cast Tuners
  • Floyd Rose Original Double locking 2 point tremolo
  • And a pickup selecting blade with five positions. It also has a master tone and master control knobs.

The design of the body of the San Dimas very much resembles the body of a strat. In fact, it is tough to tell them apart. As you Jackson has undoubtedly pulled out all of the stops on this one, arming it with some of the hottest pickups in the business so that tone and sound control will not be a problem. If you love sustain that goes on for eternity and tone that will crunch you to within an inch of your life, then this might be the guitar of your dreams. It handles like a fantasy, and you will soon find that playing lead, or rhythm, on any other guitar is not even worth the time! A superior guitar player must have superior tools before he can hope to achieve his dreams, and that is exactly what this guitar is a superior instrument for a musician who means business.

The Jackson Adrian Smith San Dimas signature model is a perfect guitar for the gigging musician, the serious jammer, or the touring rock-star. But, it is also affordable enough that you can buy it to practice on though a payment plan might help to make things easier! You need to have a guitar that you can depend on, and Jackson is known for this. Why else would the Iron Maiden guitar player choose a Jackson? Pros choose Jackson because they stand out in a crowd and because they last a LONG time!
